"The heart and soul of a Professional Organization is its Local." This quote is from the National Teacher of the Year, Anthony Mullen. The Garland Education Association has a history of being an active, vital local. Our Association Representatives are the heart and soul of our local. GEA has active ARs at most campuses who help deliver membership materials to our members, recruit new members, provide information to members in the buildings, and serve as a liaison between the members in the building and the GEA Board of Directors. If your building has an AR, why not volunteer to help them with your grade level or department? The recommended ratio is one AR to every 25 members. If your building does not currently have an AR, why not volunteer to serve as AR? Trainings have already been scheduled for the fall. For more information, email me at Judy.Hester@gea-tsta.org.
